Raphael Wallfisch (born 1953) is a British cellist and professor of cello. He is one of the most recorded classical artists in the world, and his recording of the Dvorak Cello Concerto was named as the best in the world according to a BBC Survey. His father is pianist and piano professor Peter Wallfisch, he mother cellist and Holocaust survivor Anita Lasker-Wallfisch (who was a member of the Women's Orchestra of Auschwitz and later in London a co-founder of the English Chamber Orchestra).Photographed here at Dartington Summer Schol of Music which he visited many times.
